1980 Sooner High Spartans Softball Team

Coached by Larry Fischer finished the year with a record of 36-3 and defeated Putnam City West 1-0 to win the 1980 State Championship. That season the Sooner High squad won the Tulsa Union Invitational Tournament, the Spartan Invitational Tournament, and finished 3rd in the University of Oklahoma High School Invitational Tournament. They won the District title, beating Dewey (10-1) and then Ponca City (14-0). They won the Regional title, beating Jenks (8-1), and Collinsville (1-0). They capped off the 1980 season winning the State title beating Putnam City North (3-1), and then Putnam City West (1-0).
