Chuck Hetrick
A 1968 Sooner High graduate was the first Sooner High School State Champion in 1968 at 130 pounds. Chuck was coached by his father Charles, and continued his wrestling career at OSU.
Charles W. Hetrick was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, grew up in Stillwater, and graduated from high school in Bartlesville. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University on a wrestling scholarship. Dr. Hetrick received his degree in physical education, earned a second degree in zoology and worked toward a master’s degree in physiology from the College of Veterinary Medicine. With all this education behind him, Dr. Hetrick turned his focus to dental school and pursued this goal from 1975-1979. Upon receiving his degree from Oklahoma University College of Dentistry, he began his family practice in Edmond in July of 1979.
Dr. Hetrick, and his wife Mary Beth, have been Edmond residents and active in the community since that time. Their son Chad lives in Edmond as well, and is co-owner of Heartland Landscape Company. Daughter Holly and husband Mark reside in Tulsa with their two granddaughters Sydney and Cassidy.
