Coach Steve Hesser
The coach of the Bartlesville High School varsity boys basketball team from 1985-92, Steve led the Bruins to three state championships as well as a runner-up finish. During his reign, Steve’s squads compiled a 146-47 overall record, good enough for a stellar winning percentage of .775. In 1991, Steve was selected as the Oklahoma coach of the year by both the Tulsa World and the Daily Oklahoman. Under Steve’s leadership, the Bruins advanced to the Class 6A state championship game in 1988 before capturing the title in 1989, 1991 and 1992. His squads collected five regional championships as well as an area title. Steve is currently the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.
