Linda Brown
The 1978 Sooner High graduate is the only female in school history to win an individual golf title, while playing for Sooner High golf coach, Joe Holladay. Coach Holladay is now an assistant basketball coach, for Roy Williams, at the University of North Carolina.
She went on to win the Junior Girls’ WOGA State Championship and the Women’s State WOGA Championship in the summer of 1978 as well as compete successfully in other local, state and national tournaments. Linda attended her freshman year at the University of Tulsa on a golf scholarship, where she played for legendary women’s golf coach Dale McNamara. She transferred her sophomore year to the University of Central Oklahoma where she finished her collegiate career.
Linda was inspired to take up the game by her mother Jeanette Brown, who was herself a 12 time Bartlesville City Golf Champion and a 14 time Adam’s Club Champion.
Linda is married to Special Forces Colonel (Ret) Timothy Scott Heinemann, and has 2 children Melody Colliatie and Joe Colliatie.
